While Pacific Power customers continue dealing with rising electricity rates, Oregon homeowners just received some encouraging news. The Oregon Department of Energy has released $1.1 million in new solar and battery backup rebates available for a limited time. Depending on system size and household income qualifications, homeowners can receive between $880 and $5,000 through the program.
Even better, these Oregon Department of Energy rebates can be combined with rebates from the Energy Trust of Oregon. ETO rebates start at a minimum of $2,500 for standard qualifying homeowners and increase to $5,250 through the Solar Within Reach income-qualified program. ETO rebates do require a qualifying shade report that measures solar irradiance and sun availability at the home.
That means Sunshine Solar’s 10-panel system promotion starting at $10,000 could cost qualifying homeowners less than $7,000 after rebates. Income-qualified households could potentially receive up to $10,250 in combined rebates between ODOE and Energy Trust programs.
Hurry – the biggest challenge is timing! The Oregon Department of Energy funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis until the money runs out. With Pacific Power rates continuing to rise and summer electricity usage approaching, many Southern Oregon homeowners are moving quickly to lock in savings while these programs are still available.
